Gamification integrates game mechanics with non-game environment. It frequently uses a website, an enterprise application, an online community, but it is not a rule. Game-design elements and principles can be applied in simple way, e.g. by means of blackboard and sheets of paper.
What is that all about in HR context? Gamification became support tool to improve worker engagement, organizational productivity, flow, learning, employee recruitment and evaluation. Employees compete and cooperate. They play – but not just for fun.
We had opportunity to discuss the subject of gamification on the next meeting in the AmCham cycle “Strategic HR”. Ewa Szabuniewicz, HR Director from BEST S.A., shared her experience in creating and applying enterprise game with incredibly satisfying results. It does great work in making work-life balance.
